Dear Bird Talk, I would like to share with Canadian Snowbird Association members our experience this past spring with Medipac Insurance. We had just begun our return to Canada from a five-month stay in south Texas and chose to stop for our first night at Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana. About midnight, my husband Steve awoke with […]

Dear Bird Talk, I was unable to get a favourable quote from Medipac (last fall) as I have a 4.6 cm abdominal aortic aneurysm. I am 67 years old. My surgeon will not operate until it gets to 5.5 cm. I have been spending three months in Myrtle Beach for the last 12 years and […]

Dear Bird Talk, I will never endorse CSA as long as they endorse discriminatory insurer, Medipac. The first question on the Medipac application involves HIV, ARC and AIDS. They use this highly discriminatory question to deny coverage and to deny claims. Shame on everyone at CSA for endorsing a company with such overtly discriminatory practices. […]

Dear Bird Talk, I just want to impress upon everyone how important it is to have good insurance before entering the U.S. On Jan. 1, 2011, we were in a bad accident on I-75 in Kentucky. Our van was demolished by a big motorhome while we were stopped in front of a police car with […]

Dear Bird Talk, As a Medipac Insurance customer, I am just wondering something. If I have to make a 911 call and all of the first responders (i.e. police, ambulance, fire department, dog catcher, etc.) react, how much coverage do I have through Medipac for their services. We are in Yuma and have heard that […]

Dear Bird Talk, My husband and I spend four months in Florida each winter. I have 62 days’ coverage through my Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP) and top it up to 126 days with Medipac. Last winter was the first time in many years I actually had a medical problem while in Florida, but it […]

Dear Bird Talk, Lilliana, or please redirect: I want to express my thanks and appreciation for your patience, help and effort put forth in getting my insurance coverage for our recent trip to North Carolina for a grandson’s wedding. I say that I had started with another company and verbally was advised that they could […]

Dear Bird Talk, We have been members of the CSA for a number of years & use Medipac as our out-of-country medical insurer. My question is, after reading about Don Kannon’s article from Williamstown, ON, in the latest CSA magazine, I am a bit confused about how he was able to return to Texas after […]

Dear Bird Talk, As members of CSA, we would like to thank the staff at your office for acting so quickly to resolve the issue of allowing snowbirds to deduct their annual premiums for out-of-province coverage. The success in resolving that issue is worth every penny that we pay to be members of the association. […]
