New rules for bringing a dog into the U.S.
Posted date : Jul 16, 2024.
I was just reading something about the CDC changing rules in August 2024 about bringing your pet dog across the U.S. border. Seems as if there are forms that have to be completed prior to entry, as well as all dogs requiring to be microchipped. Looking for any clarification or confirmation about this change?

Ed.: Beginning on August 1, 2024, all dogs entering the United States – including service dogs – must appear healthy upon arrival, be at least six months of age, be microchipped and be accompanied by a CDC Dog Import Form online submission receipt.
Also required will be a Certification of Dog Arriving from Canada into the United States form endorsed by an official veterinarian in the exporting country AND a valid rabies serology titer OR veterinary records which list the microchip number for the dog six months before travelling to the U.S.
This form is valid for multiple entries into the U.S. for the duration of the rabies vaccination’s validity (one or three years), if the rabies vaccination was administered in Canada.
